Assigning team members to a project is about more than just availability. Luckily, Cloud Coach has the ability to map users to a worktype and give suggestions for resourcing based on availability and skill. Hello everyone, thanks for joining us today. I’m Nic from Cloud Coach and today we’re going to be answering the question “How do I assign a team member to work on a project?”

So, in Cloud Coach we have two ways that we can assign out our tasks. The first way is to go ahead and assign out an entire project in one go, like going right here to Quick Subscribe. Now, this is going to take me into my Quick Subscribe screen where it’s going to show me all the work types that we have working on our project: business analysts, developers, marketers, and operations. I can click on “Add Person” and this is going to automatically show me the people who are most available who have been mapped to that skill type. I can easily see here with our color coding what this is going to do to their workload and I can assign out one of them or perhaps two of them or all three of them if I want by clicking on this plus screen. Now, right here Richard and Elsa have both been assigned out to every task that needs a business analyst and if I want to I can even adjust their load balance. Now, if I go back to my Gantt screen I can see which tasks have been assigned out to those resources just by looking at the color coding on my resource icons. So, right here we can see these tasks have been assigned out—these are all the ones that need a business analyst.

The second way that I can go ahead and assign out and change up my resources is by going to tasks here on the project Gantt and then clicking allocations. Now, this right here is going to show me that we already have a couple people who have been assigned out on our quick subscribe. But I can click into edit and go into our manage resources screen and I can change things around from here. So, perhaps on this one task I also want to add in Zack. I can also search for a specific user, maybe I need to have Jack on this one here even though he’s not marked as a business analyst. So, I can go in fine-tune it change around again that balance if I want to on that workload and see some color coding that’s going to show me immediately what happens to these people when they are assigned. I’m going to save it right there close out of my screen, and not only do I see them all reflected here but if I click my show allocated resources button I can see right here who’s working on everything as well.

So, there you go a couple of quick easy ways that you can assign out your team members to work on a project. So, thanks again for joining us today and make sure to come back next week for another two-minute video. Take care.
